Meet The Counselor

Picture
Mrs. Robberson is the  School Counselor at Kennedy Elementary. She brings with her a Bachelor's degree in  Music Therapy, and over 22 years of experience in the mental health field. She is married with 5 amazing children. She loves animals and music, and incorporates them both in her counseling services, along with many other alternative therapeutic approaches. She believes that every child has the ability to succeed, and is proud to be a Kennedy Cowboy!!!

Ubuntu is a Nguni Bantu term meaning "humanity". It is often translated as "I am because we are," or "humanity towards others", but is often used in a more philosophical sense to mean "the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity".

Mrs. Robberson has incorporated Kennedy Elementary's theme, UBUNTU, into the counseling program in an effort to create a culture of community among staff, students, and their families.

Hello Kennedy Family,
By now, all students and lots of parents have met Sadie Jane, Kennedy's Therapy Dog!
I am so excited to now introduce Moira, Kennedy's second Therapy Dog...

Moira is a therapy dog in the music program at Kennedy Elementary. Ms. Hoipkemier and Moira have been certified as an animal assisted therapy team by A New Leash On Life. Moira serves students by promoting self-regulation, attention to task, mindfulness, and following several-step interaction. By interacting with Moira, students understand the environment around them, how to make choices that are musical, artistic, and mindful.
